Perth is a place where you can go to at any time of the year, however, the start of the autumn season is the ideal time of all.
Firstly, the autumn season, in general, starts from the month of March to May. This means that you get to avoid the scorching record-high temperatures that summer experiences. And the start of autumn also means there are still warm days that goes perfect with the beach and other outdoor activities. In addition, you don’t have to pack extra sweaters and bulky winter wears that added extra weight and occupies your luggage space.
Secondly, autumn is considered the shoulder period hence there will be a lesser crowd at anywhere. Wouldn’t you love the idea that anywhere you go, you don’t have to wait in the queue longer than you expected and get an available table once you reach the restaurant of your choice? This season also means cheaper hotel, airfare and transport prices, that is, if you book early.
Thirdly, although most of the grapes and other seasonal fruits have already been harvested for their god-loving wines and other purposes and you cannot get to see the harvesting process or a grapevine full of blossoming grapes, but you get to taste their harvested fruits straight from the vines and farms and walked through the vineyards without getting pricked by the branches.
At Swan Valley, you will be kept busy visiting wineries after wineries and tummy full of seasonal fruits such as grapes, wild figs, apples and pears. Also, this region houses numerous farm stays that are worthy for every penny you paid for and one of them is Poplars Farmstay.
Poplars is a self-contained house that sits on a 10-acre working vineyard that has been growing wine grapes for over 25 years. The owner also has some sheep and alpacas as pets which you can feed during your stay. In addition, its location is just a short drive away from the city, airport and most of the attractions. It also boasts stunning views of the vineyard and the surrounding hills which is perfect for sunrise and sunset watching.
It has 3 bedrooms that can accommodate up to 8 persons comfortably, a study or sitting room, open plan kitchen, dining and living area, a large patio overlooking the pet sheep and alpacas and Perth Hills and a fenced up swimming pool!
